Shell Global Solutions International

The oil terminal at Gulfhavn, originating from 1965, consists of a tank storage and facilities for the loading and unloading of tankers ranging from 5,000 DWT to 120,000 DWT. Petroplus requested Royal Haskoning to perform a survey, in order to determine the condition and the capacity of the present mooring facilities. The survey comprised a study of the available documents and drawings in the archive and a visual inspection of the facilities. Additional calculations have been performed in order to confirm the capacity of the mooring facilities.

Petroplus was also interested in the possibility of handling 350,000 DWT tankers in the future. A preliminary study resulted in a recommended mooring layout and cost estimate for the upgrading of the mooring facilities to handle these ULCC’s..
